TigerShield™ is a manufacturer of PEB insulation sheets based in Faridabad, Haryana. We supply thermal insulation across India for pre engineered buildings, factory sheds, warehouses, and large commercial structures. Every roll is manufactured at our own facility using high purity aluminium foil and closed cell polyethylene bubble film, engineered to reflect 97 percent of radiant heat and cut interior temperatures by up to 8°C. Our PEB insulation rolls come in the standard 1.25 metre width that fits most PEB purlin spacings without modification, and we ship anywhere in India from Delhi NCR within 24 to 48 hours.

The problem with PEB structures is that the metal roof sheet has almost zero thermal mass. On a 42°C summer afternoon, the underside of a bare PEB metal roof can easily cross 65°C. That radiant heat dumps straight onto the shop floor, machinery, workers, and stored goods below.
PEB insulation solves this. A reflective insulation layer installed between the roof sheet and the purlin reflects radiant heat back outward, before it ever enters the building. The trapped air in the bubble core also blocks conductive heat transfer, and the aluminium foil acts as a vapour barrier that stops monsoon condensation from forming on the underside of the metal sheet.
Here is what happens inside an uninsulated PEB shed:
A properly installed reflective PEB insulation layer addresses every single one of these problems with a single product.
A TigerShield™ PEB insulation sheet has three functional layers:
Combined, the sheet works as a three way thermal barrier in a single roll that weighs less than 5 kg and installs in under an hour for a typical 1000 sqft section.
There are three standard installation methods for PEB insulation. The right one depends on whether you are insulating a new build or retrofitting an existing structure.
Method 1: Over Purlin (New Construction, Preferred) The insulation roll is laid flat across the purlins, foil side facing down. The metal roof sheet is then fixed on top. This gives the cleanest finish, full coverage, and the best thermal performance because it eliminates thermal bridging at the purlin contact points.
Method 2: Under Purlin (Retrofit, Most Common) If your PEB is already built and you want to add insulation, the sheet is stapled or nailed to the underside of the purlins. The insulation hangs below the structural members. Easy to retrofit, lower disruption, slightly lower performance than over purlin.
Method 3: Sag Method (Between Purlins) The insulation is loosely draped between purlins so that it sags slightly into the cavity. Used when you need to maintain visible purlin lines from inside (architectural exposed purlin look).
For most Indian PEB sheds we recommend Method 1 if it is a new build, or Method 2 if it is a retrofit. Both work. Our team can advise based on your site photos.
| Building Type | Recommended Product | Thickness | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small PEB godown, under 5000 sqft | ThermaFlex | 6mm | Cost effective, basic thermal break |
| Standard PEB factory shed | ThermaPrime | 10mm | Best value, double bubble + double foil |
| Large industrial PEB, 25000+ sqft | ThermaPlus | 12mm | Higher thermal resistance for big spans |
| Hot zone PEB (Rajasthan, Telangana, AP) | ThermaPlus | 12mm | Extra reflectivity for extreme heat |
| Air conditioned PEB | ThermaPlus or ThermaGuard | 12mm or 20mm | Maximises HVAC efficiency, fast payback |
| Cold storage inside PEB | ThermaGuard | 20mm | Heaviest duty for sub zero applications |
If you are unsure, the safe default for almost any Indian factory shed is ThermaPrime 10mm. It is what most of our PEB contractors order by default.
| Factor | TigerShield™ Bubble PEB Insulation | PUF Sandwich Panel |
|---|---|---|
| Material cost | Low | High (3 to 5 times more) |
| Installation labour | Low (just roll out and fix) | High (lifting, sealing, finishing) |
| Time to install | Fast (1 day for 5000 sqft) | Slow (3 to 5 days for same area) |
| Retrofit possible | Yes, easily | No, only at construction |
| Thermal performance | Very good for most factories | Slightly better, expensive overkill for many uses |
| Fire rating | BS Part 6 and Part 7 | Varies, some panels off gas in fire |
| Weight on PEB structure | Negligible | Significant (impacts column design) |
| Repair if damaged | Cut and patch easily | Replace full panel |
| Suited for cold rooms | Yes (ThermaGuard 20mm) | Yes |
| Suited for general factories | Yes, ideal | Yes, but over specified |
The honest verdict. PUF sandwich panels make sense for cold storage, food processing, and pharma clean rooms where insulation performance is mission critical. For 90 percent of Indian factory sheds, warehouses, and godowns, reflective bubble PEB insulation delivers 80 percent of the thermal benefit at 25 percent of the installed cost. That is why we sell vastly more bubble insulation to PEB contractors than the PUF panel companies do.
For most Indian PEB sheds, a 10mm double bubble double foil insulation like TigerShield™ ThermaPrime is the best balance of thermal performance, cost, and installation speed. For larger industrial PEBs in hot climate zones (Rajasthan, Telangana, AP, Gujarat) we recommend stepping up to ThermaPlus 12mm.
Yes. While installing over the purlin during PEB erection gives the cleanest result, retrofit installation under the purlin works very well and is the most common scenario for existing factory sheds. Most of our customers fall in this category.
10mm is the most common choice for standard factory sheds. 12mm is recommended for large spans, hot climate zones, and air conditioned interiors. 6mm is sufficient for smaller godowns. 20mm is reserved for cold storage and heavy industrial use.
Yes. The aluminium foil layer works as a complete vapour barrier. Moisture from inside the building cannot pass through to the cold metal roof surface, which means condensation cannot form. This is one of the most valuable benefits for monsoon prone Indian regions.
